About Church Weddings

Catholic and Protestant Ceremonies

In Switzerland, before a Church Wedding can take place, the couple must first fulfill the civil requirements. Typically, couples first sign the legal paperwork, either in their home country or in Switzerland, and then follow with the Church Blessing. Therefore, this follows the "English Way" of first signing the legal paperwork, and then having the English Church Ceremony afterwards.

Throughout the country you will come across a variety of different churches - both Catholic and Protestant - in a range of sizes and styles to hopefully find the perfect location for your Religious Ceremony. Whether it's a quaint church overlooking the Matterhorn and covered with soft snow, or a large historic Catholic church on the banks of Lake Geneva in Montreux for 160 guests, SwissSE can work together to find the ideal spot for you to Say "I Do" in the church.
